Fort Lee Thomas Paine Statue Fundraiser Dinner
This Fort Lee Common Sense Society fundraiser will help complete our fundraising efforts to erect a statue to Revolutionary War patriot Thomas Paine in Fort Lee's historic Monument Park - this is the location where Paine lived as an American soldier / adjutant with General Washington's Army in 1776 and where he began to write The American Crisis. All ticket purchases are tax deductible. Tickets are $76 and you can inquire at (201) 693-2763 or email ftleefilm@aol.com to reserve your seats. Honorees this year are Fort Lee VFW Commander James Viola and Fort Lee Historical Society member Kay Nest. The Fort Lee Common Sesne Society is made up of local residents from such organizations as the Fort Lee Historical Society, Chamber of Comemrce nd Fort Lee Film Commisison and Fort Lee Historic Committee - our goal is to promote our borough through its history and to raise funds for a statue of Revolutionary War patriot and writer Thomas Paine to be placed in Fort Lee's historic Monument Park.
