Police chief James Batelli credited the “excellent police work” of two Mahwah officers in the apprehension of a “known gang member” wanted in New York. Mitchell Gardner, 30, of Kingston, N.Y., was arrested in Mahwah Tuesday after being pulled over for a motor vehicle violation, Batelli said. Gardner “was wanted out of New York State for a parole violation,” and had an “extensive criminal history for serious crimes and is a known gang member,” Batelli said. A 17-year-old neighbor's carelessly discarded cigarette started last Tuesday's Loretto Avenue house fire that caused major damage to the rear of the building and displaced its two residents, Fair Lawn fire marshal Jay Bender said Monday. A 46-year-old Ridgewood man is facing lewdness charges for attempting to expose himself to three young girls running a lemonade stand in Glen Rock before fleeing when confronted by an adult, police said. A Fair Lawn mother is suing the producer of an instructional breastfeeding video she appeared in with her infant daughter after the video was posted to YouTube and spliced into a pornographic film by a third party. Maryann Sahoury, a sales and marketing professional who, according to her website, worked for nearly 10 years as the Director of Marketing and Special Events with Parisi Fitness Centers, shot the video for Meredith Video Studios in early 2010.
