New Arts Cafe to Open on Cedar Lane

Cafe named for famed Teaneck singer, songwriter.

A new cafe featuring live music, poetry and art space will open early next month at the former BLAST location on Cedar Lane. The new cafe, Phoebe's Place, is named for the late chart-topping musician Phoebe Snow, who grew up in Teaneck, according to the owner's announcement made Wednesday. The cafe will host a range of artists and musicians while serving light and healthy fare.  The Phoebe's Place kitchen will include a menu created by chef Michelle Schotanus, the former owner of Salsa! in Edgewater, and Mind Body and Spirit. It will be BYOB and offer hearty and healthy soups, gourmet salads, sandwiches, burgers, cheese plates and some Mexican dishes, according to Leo Lavoro, a representative for the eatery.
