New Middle School Principal Appointed by Fort Lee School Board

Robert Daniello will take over as principal of Lewis F. Cole Middle School on no later than March 4. The BOE is also holding a special meeting on Jan. 7 to choose a board attorney, among other professional services.

The Fort Lee Board of Education voted Tuesday to appoint a new principal at Lewis F. Cole Middle School roughly three months after the school’s former principal resigned. The board appointed Robert Daniello, currently the principal of Secaucus Middle School, to the post. But the final details of his contract won’t be hammered out until a new board attorney is selected, which school officials anticipate will happen at a special meeting on Monday, Jan. 7. “The resolution itself is that we will be hiring this person; we agreed to do so,” said Fort Lee Board of Education president Yusang Park on Wednesday. “And as far as the details are concerned, it will be worked out.” According to the resolution the board passed at its special business …

As a former employee of Secaucus. Mr. Daniello is a crooked and corrput administrator that "fixes" grades due to parental involvement. I think he will fit right in the culture of Fort Lee by "fixing" SAT scores. (Remember that scandal?)   more ›

Fort Lee to Seek Permanent Middle School Principal, Will Consider Interim

Fort Lee’s new interim superintendent says an advertisement is set to go out this weekend for a middle school principal, but that if officials can’t find the right person right away, they may hire an interim until they do.

As Fort Lee students and teachers rapidly approach the halfway point of the school year, Lewis F. Cole Middle School is still without a permanent leader. But school officials say that while an advertisement is going out this weekend for a principal, they will consider an interim principal until they find the right person for the job. The issue came up at the Fort Lee Board of Education’s regular business meeting Monday, with several concerned parents pushing for answers. Officials said at the time that they had posted for an “interim principal,” a designation that only raised more questions, and that they had conducted interviews earlier in the year but didn’t approve anybody to take on the role permanently. Later in the meeting, the board…

‘Concerned Parents’ Lobby for Elementary School Principal’s Job

BOE president says there will be a principal in place at Fort Lee School No. 1 by the beginning of the next school year but says current principal, Kristine Cecere, whose contract was recently not renewed, has rights the school board has to protect.

Parents, students, faculty and community members resoundingly voiced their support last week at the Fort Lee Board of Education’s regular business meeting for two Lewis F. Cole Middle School teachers whose contracts recently were not renewed. But seventh grade Language Arts teacher Christina Martelo and seventh grade Science teacher Ian Zellman were not the only people in the school district who were not renewed this year. Fort Lee School No. 1 principal Kristine Cecere is also among those in the district finding herself in a similar situation, and the decision not to renew her contract has some parents concerned about leadership at their children’s school moving forward. It was nearly a year ago that the school board voted to appoint …

I don't know what is happening. all I know is that Mrs. Cessarie has been very helpful when we needed. No one seems to know what is the reason why her contract is terminated. Is it politics or a bunch of people who do not like her style.   more ›

Fort Lee Parent Starts Petition to Save Principal’s Job

Fort Lee School No. 1 principal’s contract was not renewed for the 2011-2012 school year; one concerned parent hopes her efforts will change that.

When students at Fort Lee School No. 1 return to their classrooms on September 7, one thing is certain: they will have a principal. School officials have said it’s required by law that every school building must have a certified principal in the building at all times. The question however is who that principal will be, and whether it’s Kristine Cecere, the school’s current principal whose contract was not renewed, an interim principal or someone else entirely remains very much up in the air. One concerned parent of a kindergartener at the school and staunch supporter of Cecere is doing her part to try and save the current principal’s job, taking it upon herself to start a petition she plans to present to the Fort Lee Board of Education and…

Unless you were at the meeting, what you're stating is hearsay and I don't think it's fair to spread an opinion as fact. My personal sense is that just as many experienced teachers, if not more, would like for her to stay. Given that neither the Principal nor the teachers are allowed to publicly comment on the matter, I think it would be better to try and be as factual and truthful as possible …   more ›
