Board of Education Meeting, Girls All-Star Basketball Game and More, This Week in Fort Lee

See what's going on in town this week.

The Fort Lee Board of Education will be meeting Monday in the auditorium at Fort Lee High School on Lemoine Avenue. The public work session will be held from 6 pm to 7 pm. The Board will then meet in a closed session from 7 pm to 8 pm before beginning its regular public meeting at 8 pm. The Planning Board is also meeting Monday beginning at 7:30 pm in the Council Chambers of Borough Hall. On the agenda is preliminary/final site plan approval for a 140-unit residential building--Assad Y. Daibes Memorial Foundation for Special Needs at 69 Main Street. BOE, Planning Board Meetings; FLHS Booster Club Dinner Dance

Take a look at the week ahead in Fort Lee.

The Fort Lee Board of Education will be holding their regular business meeting Monday evening at 8pm in Fort Lee High School's Media Center on Lemoine Ave. The BOE will be holding a private work session prior to the public meeting from 6pm to 8pm. The meeting agenda includes a resolution on the school district's HIB (Harrassment, Intimidation and Bullying) report and the approval of the results of the school election among other business items.   The Fort Lee Planning Board will also be holding a public meeting Monday evening at 7:30pm in the council chambers of Borough Hall. In these times of school budgets stretched to their breaking points, it is important for parents of children participating in sports as well as all residents of Fort Lee to help where we can. Number one: On Monday night at Fort Lee School No. 1, students from the school, along with their counterparts from Fort Lee School No. 3, will host a student town hall meeting, during which they will present their proposal for Redevelopment Area 5 to Fort Lee Mayor Sokolich and the public, according to School No. 3 principal Robert Kravitz. Number one: The Fort Lee Planning Board meets Monday at 7:30 p.m. in borough Hall’s council chambers. The planning board’s agenda includes Michael Sourek of 3 Crescent Court/approving Block 1452, Lots 1.06, 1.07 as minor subdivision with no variances; a resolution on the master plan reexamination report of April, 2011 as prepared and amended by Phillips, Preiss and Grygiel; and a public hearing for James Koo and Soo Jin Koo for 2126 Jones Rd., Block 5452, Lot 2 as a minor subdivision with no variance.
