Interim Assistant Superintendent Appointed Through June
At a meeting devoted largely to discussion of the new school budget, the Fort Lee BOE passed a walk-in resolution appointing Sharon Amato to the role pending county approval.
An interim assistant superintendent was appointed for the remainder of the school year Monday night, as a a walk-in resolution approved by the Board of Education took some by surprise. The BOE voted to appoint Sharon Amato to the role of Interim Assistant Superintendent through June 30, paying her a non-pensionable stipend of $10,000 spread over the remaining three months of the school year. Formerly the Fort Lee District Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction for ESL, Bilingual and World Languages, Dr. Amato's appointment goes into effect April 2.
