A weak storm front expected to bring up to two inches of snow starting Monday night.
Cross your fingers. As of Sunday, weather projections indicate a storm front entering the region that could give us—gasp—a white Christmas. According to the National Weather Service, there is a 20 percent chance of snow on Tuesday, with a temperature ultimately reaching 38 degrees. Stephen Pellettiere, with Ion Weather based at the Morristown Municipal Airport, said current projections appear to have the small storm begin producing at about 9 p.m. on Christmas Eve, tapering off at the latest 6 a.m. Tuesday morning. Metered parking spots and municipal lots in Fort Lee’s downtown area are free for the first three hours through Jan. 1. But make sure you pay the meters after your three hours are up.
In what has become a Fort Lee holiday tradition, parking for up to three hours is free on the borough’s downtown streets and municipal lots through Jan. 1, 2013, the Fort Lee Parking Authority has announced. The free, three-hour parking at metered spots and in borough parking lots started Monday and is a yearly effort on the part of authorities to encourage residents and visitors to spend a little extra time downtown shopping in local stores and dining in local restaurants. “It’s our way of giving back to the Borough and wishing everyone a healthy and happy holiday season,” said Chairwoman Catherine “Kay” Nest of the Parking Authority in a statement posted on the borough’s website.
