A Metuchen man was charged Wednesday with sexual assault and criminal sexual contact after he allegedly touched two different women “in a sexual manner” at a medical office in Fort Lee, Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli announced. Two women told detectives that Gung T. “Dan” Kim, 29, who works at SBK Medical Group at 2083 Center Ave. in Fort Lee, allegedly sexually abused them on separate visits to the clinic in December, Molinelli said. A Fort Lee college freshman, who was among five minors left locked in a police transport van outside the Fort Lee Department in March 2011, has filed a civil suit against the borough, the police department and several police officers, according to a report. Adam Kim was 17 on March 26, 2011, when he and four other teenagers were left in the van for more than 14 hours in freezing temperatures and without food, water or bathroom facilities. Kim is seeking a jury trial, compensatory and punitive damages and contends in the lawsuit filed in federal court that police detained him illegally and violated his civil rights, NorthJersey.com reported. Fort Lee police are investigating the incident that started with a stolen car in Englewood Cliffs and ended with a chase all the way to Newark. Two police units were rammed and a loaded gun recovered, authorities said.
Police chased a car they believe was stolen from a Sylvan Avenue restaurant in Englewood Cliffs late Friday night all the way to Newark after receiving a report of people trying to break into cars on 6th Street in Englewood Cliffs, authorities said. Along the way, two Fort Lee police cars were smashed into, and police later discovered a loaded gun in one of the two cars they were chasing, police said. Just after 11 p.m. Friday, Englewood Cliffs police received a call from a woman who said she saw several people getting out of a black BMW and trying the doors of cars parked along 6th Street before jumping back into the BMW and taking off when she shouted at them, Englewood Cliffs Police Chief Michael Cioffi told Patch. “Minutes or seconds …

The Week Ahead: a look at some of what’s going on in Fort Lee this week.
The Fort Lee Board of Education late last week cancelled its regular business meeting originally scheduled for Monday evening, but those who were planning to attend may want to consider heading over to Monument Park instead. There, organizers say, a candlelight vigil is planned for the victims, families and community members of Newtown, Conn., where the second deadliest school shooting in U.S. history occurred Friday, resulting in the deaths of 20 children and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School. The Fort Lee vigil is planned as a “gathering to give and receive comfort in light of the Newtown shooting,” providing residents of all faiths—or none, organizers emphasize—an opportunity to “share with neighbors,” pray or simply be silent…
