Two Arrested on Drug Charges after Fletcher Ave. Traffic Stop

Two New York men were arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute, police said.

Two men were arrested Thursday after a traffic stop led police to discover just under a pound of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in a car on the Palisade Interstate Parkway, according to police. At approximately 3:20 p.m. on March 28, PIP police stopped a 2001 Jeep Cherokee on the Fletcher Avenue ramp of the Palisade Interstate Parkway northbound after spotting an obstructed rear license plate on the vehicle, PIP Police Lieutenant Michael Coppola said in a release. According to police, one of the officers detected a strong odor of marijuana as he approached the driver side door of the vehicle. A search of the front seat passenger found under 50 grams of marijuana and a digital scale, police said. Four Charged With Possession of Marijuana and Intent to Distribute Near School

Fort Lee Police charge four men with possession of marijuana and intent to distribute within 1000 feet of a school.

Police Chief Keith Bendul announced the arrest of four 18-year old men from Clifton in the McDonald's parking lot on Lemoine Avenue in Fort Lee on March 12. Tyquan Lee, Bobby Berry, Otis Williams and Blair Thornton were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute within 1000 feet of a school, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, Bendul said. According to Bendul, Patrol Officer Brett Howard witnessed Lee make an illegal left turn as he drove his 2002 Dodge Neon out of the Whiteman Mall parking lot at approximately 9:03 p.m. School No. 1 sits directly behind Whiteman Mall. Drug Arrest Uncovers Stolen Property

Fort Lee Police said that a drug arrest turned up three stolen watches and other valuables.

Detectives Cory Horton and Timothy Cullen arrested two men and two juveniles after observing a "hand to hand drug transaction" in the parking lot of the Skyview Motel on Bergen Boulevard last week, Fort Lee Police said. According to police, Kevin J. Sobaci, 18, and Christian L. Corchado, 19, both Fort Lee residents, were parked in a car in the parking lot of the motel when a juvenile entered the rear passenger seat. Horton observed the juvenile sell marijuana to Sobaci and Corchado, police said. After the transaction took place, police said that Horton and Cullen arrested the two adults and the juvenile, finding marijuana on Corchado and money used in the transaction on the juvenile. Bergen County Executive's Son Pleads Not Guilty to Rutherford Drug Charges

The son of Bergen County Executive Kathleen Donovan entered a not guilty plea Friday to drug charges stemming from an incident where he allegedly smoked marijuana with two teenage girls at the county executive’s home. Brendan Donovan, 20, waived a court appearance set for Tuesday and his Hackensack-based attorney, Robert Galantucci, entered the plea on his client’s behalf. according to a report on northjersey.com. Donovan was charged last week with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and being under the influence of marijuana.
