FLHS Cheerleaders Win Honorable Mention at Nationals

Fort Lee beats out other teams to win Honorable Mention in the Small Varsity Intermediate Division.

This past weekend the Fort Lee High School Cheerleaders performed at the Reach the Beach National Competition in Ocean City, Maryland with over 250 other teams from around the country. Fort Lee received Honorable Mention in the Small Varsity Intermediate Division beating out other teams. The judges praised Fort Lee Cheerleaders for their dance synchronization and great energy. Coach Jacky Corcoran said this whole experience has been surreal as a first year coach. "All of our hard work paid off and I could not be happier with the result," she said.   Coach Nikki Luppino said the girls really came together and performed flawlessly after only a few weeks of practice. Fort Lee Cheerleading Squad Excited For New Season

The girls and their coaches are working hard in preparation for what they hope is another successful campaign

The Fort Lee Cheerleading team gives the Bridgemen an extra boost and develops excitement among fans at football and basketball games. Success has been a staple for the girls who work very hard and are very well coached. Head coach Nina Anderson has led the Fort Lee Cheerleading team to three national titles and many regional championships, and she is assisted by Nikki Luppino. The team has made many memories together and junior captain Hailey Klein remembers many of them vividly. "Last season went really well," Klein said. "As a squad, we won Grand All-State Champions at FDU in the UCC Eastern States Fall Invitational competition. We won two second-degree of excellence awards, as well as ten first-degree of excellence awards in single, …
