Principal Attacked During Field Day

Police charged Joseph Dimino with aggravated assault and a litany of other charges, including violating a restraining order, after he allegedly punched Fort Lee School No. 3 principal Robert Kravitz in the head Tuesday morning outside the school.

Police have charged the ex-husband of an employee at Fort Lee School No. 3, with aggravated assault for allegedly punching the principal at the school in the head during Field Day on Tuesday morning, before following him inside the school and continuing the attack, police said. The alleged incident occurred during Field Day activities at the school so principal Robert Kravitz, teachers and students were all outside the building. Joseph Dimino, of Fort Lee, allegedly started yelling obscenities at Kravitz from a fence that divides the school property from Domino’s residence next door, according to police. When Kravitz tried to calm him down, Domino, who police allege was intoxicated at the time of the incident, punched Kravitz in the head …

Mr. Kravitz should spend the summer in a self-defense course so the next time he is assaulted he could knock his assailant to the ground, and if he gets up, knock him down again. I know just the school where he could become an eight-week wonder (July and August).   more ›

Gas Station Attendant Charged In Golf Club Assault

Police originally received a call of a fight between co-workers at a gas station on Anderson Avenue. Seven officers responded and determined that it wasn’t much of a fight, charging one of the men with assault.

A Fort Lee man was slapped with assault and weapons charges Tuesday after he allegedly hit a co-worker at a local gas station with a golf club, authorities said. Palwinder Singh, 25, was charged with aggravated assault in the alleged incident, which occurred Tuesday at about 4:30 p.m. at the Gulf Station at 1196 Anderson Ave. directly across from Fort Lee School No. 4, according to police. Police responded to the scene after receiving a call of a fight in progress at the gas station, but when they got there, officers determined that the incident couldn’t really be described as a “fight” at all, said Capt.
