One of four elementary schools in the Fort Lee School District, School No. 4 — along with School No. 3 —…More falls right in the middle in terms of enrollment. Housed in a visually stunning building on Anderson Avenue with an old school charm and expansive school grounds, School No. 4 dates back to 1911.
The school places a strong emphasis on reading and writing through its writing workshop, publication of stories, performances and fine arts. An impressive array of support programs includes reading recovery, peer mediation, ESL, bilingual classes in Korean, Spanish and Japanese, divorce and bereavement programs, peer pals for new students and a courage team to fight bullying. Students may also participate in student government, select choir, gifted and talented academic and arts programs, instrumental music lessons, environmental club, and Students-Against-Destructive-Decisions.
