Run by the Fort Lee Recreation Department, programs are open to children ages 8 through 17 who attend Fort LeeMore public schools and Christ the Teacher Parochial School. The Recreation Department offers an array of cultural, educational, instructional and recreational programs at the Youth Center, as well as less structured activities. Programs are seasonal, but include such diverse offerings as music, art and dance and chess, fencing, martial arts and ballet. Individual and team sports include soccer and team sports like soccer, golf and tennis. The center's schedules vary depending on age with some hours set aside for ages eight to middle school, some for high school only and open hours for ages eight to high school.

Given its limited hours of operation, it may take some pre-planning, but a visit to the Fort Lee Museum is well worthMore the effort for history buffs or those who simply want to learn more about Fort Lee's storied past. The museum's archives contains material from the famed Riviera Nightclub, Fort Lee High School, the Fort Lee Athletic Club, the George Washington Bridge and the American Revolution among other institutions, landmarks and historic events. Located on Parker Avenue, between Monument Park and the Church of the Good Shepherd, the quaint stone building fits right into its surroundings in a particularly scenic area of downtown Fort Lee. The facility is located on the grounds of George Washington's original encampment. The museum has weekend and Wednesday evening hours only, but group tours are offered throughout the week by appointment. Special exhibits are held throughout the year.
