Centrally located on a busy stretch of Main Street near Central Road and easily accessible by public transportation,…More The Fort Lee Memorial Municipal Building houses the Borough Clerk and Mayor's offices, council chambers and municipal court, the Fire Chief's office and many other municipal departments.
The Health Department office is located behind Borough Hall, as the building is commonly known.
The building itself was erected as a memorial to "those who served their country in the World War." Fronting the building and just to the left of the front steps is a stirring memorial dedicated to "America's Greatest Generation" and Fort Lee's own who lost their lives in World War II. The "eternal light" atop the building symbolizes the devotion of the sons of Fort Lee who gave their lives for their country.
Inside, a series of paintings and historical pieces depict Fort Lee's importance in American and Revolutionary War history.
A notice board located just inside the building's front door includes upcoming meeting schedules and agendas. The clerk's office is to the left.
Borough Hall also houses the Fort Lee Film Commission.
The Mayor and Council hold regular meetings in council chambers on the second Thursday of each month with several exceptions.
