Police originally received a call of a fight between co-workers at a gas station on Anderson Avenue. Seven officers responded and determined that it wasn’t much of a fight, charging one of the men with assault.
The agency is installing fencing with locked gates and “keeping a closer eye” on the area with no public walkway but where a woman was found early Saturday stuck in a grate, as the investigation into how she got there continues.
The incident occurred Wednesday morning on the New Jersey Turnpike near the Route 46 overpass, according to state police.
Police around the area, including Bergen County, crack down over Memorial Day weekend.
Police say the two pedestrians were crossing in the crosswalk near Monument Park on Palisade Avenue when they were struck by a car making a left turn in broad daylight. The driver was charged.
