Anyone hear from the Mayor ???? ..... crickets.
Melissa Hendrixson April 24, 2014 at 04:48 pm
Does anyone know when the evacuation is over? Heard the fire is 30% contained but nothing if we canRead More return to our homes.

Ri-Brickulous! April 24, 2014 at 04:29 pm
Hey Jean, they don't do "presdribed burns" while under a red flag warning. But goodRead More conspiracy theory nonetheless, really well thought out.
KC April 24, 2014 at 04:29 pm
This was not a control burn.
Mr. History April 24, 2014 at 04:38 pm
It is that time of year Dry, Winds, The Meadows are set to burn. Just a cigarette thrown out a carRead More window. A Pc of broken glass can magnify a hot spot. Fire is a Bad thing,

@Gerson Goldstein You can say God in school, just like the Klan can say what they wish. SchoolsRead More can't force God on kids. You don't seem to understand the 1st Amendment.
J Leland April 24, 2014 at 03:15 pm
KKK breaks into a few homes and then comes to the rescue. An age old strategy.
Sean April 24, 2014 at 05:01 pm
How do you really know they are up? They could be sleeping underneath those capes. I would thinkRead More you would wear something more scary like a Michael Myers of Leatherface mask, thought would work better I would think.
gjc April 24, 2014 at 05:03 pm
Amann77 How many kids have I fed lately? Lots. Four that are not mine but live with me or they wouldRead More go hungry and I REGULARLY donate to food pantries of all kinds. And exactly what do you do except whine? But you're a kid yourself (less than 40yo) so what the heck do you know about life or hard times? Wait until life catches up with you.
Brian N April 24, 2014 at 05:05 pm
Whoisleadingus, good post, and I know firsthand how frustrating it can be when people you are tryingRead More to help make bad decisions. On the flip side, nothing is better than seeing someone you help turn their life around.
Brian N April 24, 2014 at 05:08 pm
Old School, I live minutes from Camden, I volunteer regularly. I also serve hundreds monthly at ourRead More local good pantry. Last time I checked, you don't have to live in poverty to help those that are in need. So your turn, where do you live and how do you make a positive impact? You are obviously a nutrition expert and must work with the poor to help with their over eating? Lol please, tell me more "facts" about the poor and myself, since you seem to know so much ;-)

Now that is something. Imagine how big this baby will be in a couple of years. He probably won'tRead More even fit through a regular door!
Alison McArty April 24, 2014 at 11:35 am
Sunny do you have any scientific information whatsoever to back up your asinine comment?

Thank you Alison I was thinking the same thing....

"mystuy" -- Why you poor thing, you must be feeling terrible & it's all white people'sRead More fault for not giving you more freebies of all kinds & not feeling guilty as hell about all your failings.
bg robbins April 24, 2014 at 05:08 pm
You would feel better and see clearer with a little acceptance , love and foregiveness instead of soRead More much anger and revenge.

I don't disagree with you that we're becoming less and less a free country but it's wrong to blameRead More democrats alone. It wasn't dems alone that passed the patriot act. It hasn't been dems alone that have been re-uping it since it was passed the first time. On how bad Hillary will be as a president. Every president is bad in some ways. Reagan raised taxes more than a dozen times. Bush took us to war on two fronts with no way to pay for it. Clinton signed DOMA and DADT. Obama gave away the farm in order to get the Affordable Care Act passed. Papa Bush said that atheists shouldn't be considered Americans. Sure Hillary will be a bad president in some ways.... they are all bad in some way. I can tell you this much though, any president is going to be a worse president when the publicly stated goal of the opposition is to obstruct that president at any and all opportunities. The dems did it to Bush. The republican'ts are doing it to Obama. It's like Palestine and Israel, they'll fight to the death out of spite and habit, neither one of them knowing which one threw the first punch and not caring because winning is the only goal. What America needs are citizens that go into government for the good of the country instead of the good of their party.
Michael Hipp April 24, 2014 at 03:03 pm
Oh, one last point on your last post B. Dub. "Hillary presidency combined with a DemocraticRead More Congress." Ain't gonna happen. Republicant's have gerrymandered the states to absolute death. They have the House for the foreseeable future and they have a good chance at getting the Senate. I can't guarantee you who's going to win in 2016 but I can very well guarantee you that no one party will take executive and legislative branches, both.
mommy1 April 23, 2014 at 06:06 pm
public and private should be seperate
John April 24, 2014 at 08:11 am
When you have taxes as extreme as they are in NJ, you better be #1 in a lot of things............
Citizen of America April 24, 2014 at 09:39 am
Schools in blue states are excellent because citizens here take education seriously. As a result, weRead More fund schools accordingly through taxes. If you want low taxes, move to a dumb dumb red state where the education is atrocious and the citizens ignorant.

this "to me" is not funny, the swat teams are used for serious issues, hostage taking,Read More etc. to have a swat team called to a home behind a video game is stupid, these swat members are trained to save lives, etc. to be called to a home behind a video game is not funny, what happens if a REAL call comes in and swat is needed there, I hope they catch the idiot that called swat and he gets what he/she deserves
John Strother April 24, 2014 at 08:38 am
with caller ID they should be able to point to the caller. Sorry but an out of state telephoneRead More number should be a tip off.
Eddie April 24, 2014 at 08:52 am
The caller used Skype, via the Internet, and will probably never be found if he took certainRead More precautions unless he's running his mouth about this prank.
Marynary April 24, 2014 at 11:22 am
Are you self employed? You seem to be able to manage your time to suit yourself. What field?
Coffeenut April 24, 2014 at 11:28 am
Yes I am. I'd rather not divulge my field on here though.

@Charles Taite - As one of the commentators responding to and to whom Black Panther of PoetryRead More responded I happen to agree with you. I don't know whether Patch removed him or whether he did so himself. I for one did not flag any of his comments as offensive regardless of my personal dislike of some of the comments he made. If Patch did so shame on Patch. P.S. As much as I have issues with what he wrote he is no where close to the KKK for bigotry or racist beliefs or talk but your point is well taken.
dwayne roberson April 24, 2014 at 02:17 pm
Patch deleted my comments on an Earth Day article. All I did was recommend JunkScience.com.
Charles Taite April 24, 2014 at 02:45 pm
TRUST ME!!! "The Black Panther of Poetry" did not do this himself. benicia patch didRead More it!! THIS IS NOT AMERICA!!!

Stew Sidedoor April 23, 2014 at 10:13 am
This is what happens when you want to pay teachers 6 digit salaries for average at best schools, ifRead More you do not then maybe you should move to Fla.

The Stig April 22, 2014 at 01:10 pm
Dickie also can't stand not seeing his name in the paper once a week, so he'll be "for" orRead More "against" something just for the sake of issuing a press release. Sending out a camera crew to interview him just enables him further. Forty years and counting. He's the poster child for Term Limits.
Mac April 22, 2014 at 03:26 pm
the only difference I see between Codey and Christie is that one is wearing an orange cone and theRead More other one is still renting them out at will - regardless, the longer Julie Herrman remains at Rutgers, the longer Rutgers's integrity is going to be under a public cloud
Clyde Z April 23, 2014 at 07:59 am
her hiring was a joke, I mean they said they did a background check: must not have used GoogleRead More search because they've listed her troubles before her hire at Rutgers. Not to mention that she "lied" on her application. I've had co-workers fired after a month, months and in another case years after their hire due to lies on their application. Hermann's lies could/should have been cought by simple 10th grade investigation
Everyday Mathematics is just one of the programs that makes a heck of a lot of $ off of the millions of textbooks sold to schools that teach to the 'Core.' The Common Core isn't just restricting for teachers & students, it's lining people's pockets.
CowDung April 24, 2014 at 12:20 pm
Gary's post is full of falsehoods.
CowDung April 24, 2014 at 12:22 pm
"Agreements or addenda" are not part of the Common Core. Again, if states are doing theirRead More own thing by adding stuff or agreeing to do something different, it isn't Common Core.
Millsey April 24, 2014 at 02:46 pm
If it's on the internet it must be true? A small group of parents make up some "facts" andRead More post it on random news sites. So it must be true? I'm in favor of trusting the actual sources of the program over a blog that someone created because they are afraid of their kids getting a better education.

Silent Wolf, that's because the majority now may not always be the majority.
Analli Citall April 24, 2014 at 03:46 pm
Silent Wolf, that is not my question at all. I want to know what is the harm in taking those wordsRead More out?
Joe R April 24, 2014 at 05:10 pm
We don't live in a theocracy, religion should not be promoted by the government. You can pray anyRead More time you want any place you want. No one is stopping you from going to your church, temple, mosque or synagogue. You are free to practice your given religion as much as you want. The Pledge of Allegiance is not mandated by the Constitution, it's only been around since 1892 and the "under God" part has been around since 1954. In my opinion, the "under God" part should be eliminated because we should separate religion from a publically funded entity such as a public school. Private schools and religious schools can do whatever they want, they are not even obligated to say the Pledge of Allegiance in many of these private schools. Very few nations even have a Pledge of Allegiance.

Netflix is hands down the best deal going, and it has been a bargain for YEARS. I guess theRead More nonsensical whiners who complain about a long-delayed, $2 a MONTH increase are worried it will cost them a (partial) SINGLE LATTE. Utterly ridiculous.
Gregg L. DesElms April 23, 2014 at 10:36 am
TO MICHAEL BRENNICK: Leftist, Democra... WHAT? You think Comcast is part of the so-calledRead More "liberal" media (which, by the way, doesn't even exist)? Are you freakin' KIDDIN' me? [shakes head in disbelief] Wow. The FOX NEWS CHANNEL should be held criminally liable for what it has done to your brain.
Gregg L. DesElms April 23, 2014 at 02:39 pm
FOR THOSE WHO LIKE AMAZON PRIME OVER NETFLIX: Here's an interesting article from today (23 Apr 2014)Read More about how Amazon Prime just got HBO to stream at least some of its older content, plus "HBO GO," to Amazon's new Fire TV box, thereby making NetFlix upset because NetFlix (nor any other streaming service, including HULU) has never been able to get any HBO content; and so Amazon has scored a real coup! On the Fierce Wireless website | http://bit.ly/1i9J0l7 | Interesting.

This isn't a late April Fools joke? A man under investigation for ordering traffic jams theRead More gridlocked (among other things) school buses for hours is a good father role model? I keep waiting for the punchline…

wonder how he treats his father being he has no respect for the retired folks that worked hard andRead More paid all their taxes. He should get jackass of the year!
