Fort Lee Farmer's Market Opens For Season With Historic Jitney Tour

PHOTOS: The Fort Lee Farmer's Market is open for the season, running throughout the summer and into the early part of the fall.

The annual opens Sunday at the ’s plaza are, featuring a mix of old and new vendors, with the anchor of Stone Pointe Farms, which always brings customers back each week through Nov. 18.

In conjunction with the opening of the market Sunday, the Fort Lee Film Commission, Fort Lee Historic Committee and the Fort Lee Office of Cultural & Heritage Affairs provided  “Fort Lee Historic Jitney Tours” starting at the community center.

The tour included the unveiling of two new historic commemorative street signs dedicated to Universal Studios, which traces its roots to Fort Lee. This year marks the studio’s centennial, and the Film Commission is celebrating that connection all year.
