Video: Film Commission Challenges Little Leaguers, Brings Back Tradition

To close out opening day/week for both Fort Lee little leagues, we take a look at a special challenge for little leaguers this year - a chance to win free tickets to the movies

The Fort Lee Film Commission is doing its part to celebrate American baseball history this year by bringing back a tradition started at Ebbets Field—the home of the Brooklyn Dodgers.

A sign for Abe Stark's Brooklyn clothing store was placed directly under the Ebbets Field scoreboard in right-center field that read, “HIT SIGN, WIN SUIT.” Any player to hit the sign on the fly would get a free suit from Stark's store.

This year the Fort Lee Film Commission designed a similar sign and recently installed them in the outfields of both the Fort Lee American and National Little League fields.

The sign reads, “HIT THE SIGN, WIN FREE TICKETS TO THE MOVIES.”

Any player to hit the sign will receive four free tickets to the Cedar Lane Cinemas in Teaneck courtesy of the Fort Lee Film Commission Chairman and operator of the Cedar Lane Cinemas Nelson Page.
