Senior Athlete Enjoyed Success in Two Sports

David Daniels has played varsity soccer and bowling for the Bridgemen.

Senior David Daniels was the captain of the Fort Lee bowling team this year and usually bowled anchor. He also played left back for the varsity soccer team during his time at Fort Lee High School.

Daniels has had many standout moments in his high school athletic career, including qualifying for the state tournament in bowling, achieving all league status for bowling, receiving the "unsung hero" award from the Bergen County Soccer Coaches association in 2010 and scoring a goal in a soccer game against Dwight Morrow from 30 yards out.

Playing for Coach Ciccone and the Bridgemen soccer team has been something that Daniels will not soon forget.

“Coach Ciccone is a man who deserves great respect," said Daniels. “He pushed me hard in my four years with program because he believed in me. I learned a lot about the game of soccer from him and also how to be a better leader. Coach Ciccone ran a tight ship and besides soccer I learned a lot about responsibility.”

Bowling for Coach Sayer and his bowling team was also a great experience during which Daniels learned a lot and improved his game.

“Coach Sayer convinced me to first start bowling my junior year in high school," said Daniels. "To be honest, I wasn’t very good, but Coach Sayer taught me how to relax and I had a blast having him as a coach. He always knew what to say and how to liven things up.”

The University at Buffalo, also known as SUNY Buffalo, await Daniels this fall where he will be looking to play club soccer and join some bowling leagues and maybe eventually head on a bowling tour.

Daniels is also in the process of learning how to play the piano. In his free time, Daniels enjoys watching movies and sports, shopping and hanging out with his friends.
