How was your week? This is how the week went for the Bridgemen and Lady Bridgemen sports teams.
Football
Fort Lee fell to 1-3 on the season losing at Westwood 48-20 on Saturday night. The Bridgemen were as close as 28-20 in the third quarter, but the Cardinals wore them down. Fort Lee’s Josh Ford returned a kick for a touchdown. Senior Frankie Goris had two touchdown runs for Fort Lee and senior Tyler Sanders had eight catches for the Bridgemen. The team will return to the field on Thursday for a 6 p.m. home game against River Dell.

The Bridgemen soccer team won their fifth consecutive contest on Monday afternoon when they picked up a 2-0 win at Lakeland High School. Both goals were scored by Ron Locker. The first goal came on a free kick, and the second was assisted by senior Nikola Gogic. Goalkeeper Matt Hernandez had four saves on the day. The Bridgemen hit the field again Monday night at 7 p.m. for a game at Mahwah high school.

The Lady Bridgemen fell to 2-5 after a loss at Passaic Valley High School on Tuesday afternoon. Fort Lee was shut out 4-0 in the game. Lady Bridgemen goalkeeper Jackie Ross recorded four saves. Fort Lee rebounded on Saturday afternoon with a 5-0 shutout win at Union City. Senior Natalie Mateus scored three goals for the Lady Bridgemen. Sophomore Caitlin McKenna scored the other two goals. Summer Abdou and Jillian Scrivanich led the team in assists. The Lady Bridgemen return to action on Tuesday when they host Lakeland High School at 4:15 p.m.
Girls Volleyball
The Lady Bridgemen defeated Garfield on the road Monday afternoon by a score of 2-1 to improve their record to an impressive 7-2 on the season. Garfield got off to a good start, taking a 1-0 lead after a 25-22 set win. The Lady Bridgemen won the match by winning their final two sets by scores of 25-10 and 25-15. The Lady Bridgemen continued their hot streak on Tuesday with a 2-0 win at Lakeland High School. Fort Lee won both sets by scores of 25-14 and 25-18.The Lady Bridgemen hit the court again Monday when they host Park Ridge at 4 p.m.
Girls Tennis
The Lady Bridgemen improved to 3-0 on the season after a 4-1 win at home against Lakeland High School. The Lady Bridgemen are living up to expectations thus far as both their singles players and doubles teams have played very well this season. The girls will return to the courts Monday when they host McNair Academic High School at 4 p.m.
Cross Country
The boys cross country team improved to 3-1 after a 29-26 win against Westwood High School on Monday. Senior Jenya Dyagilev led the way for Fort Lee, coming in second place with a time of 18:47. The team is now in second place in the Big North American Division 7. The Lady Bridgemen fell to 2-2 after a 17-40 loss against the Lady Cardinals of Westwood on the same day. The last dual meet of the season will take place Tuesday October at Darlington Park when the team goes up against Dumont.
