Fort Lee Girls Recreation Basketball League Hosts First All-Star Game

Three grade divisions will face off in Fort Lee Orange vs. Fort Lee Black Monday at Lewis F. Cole Middle School gym.

For the first time ever, the Fort Lee Girls Recreation Basketball League will be hosting an All-Star game in each of its three divisions. All games will take place on Monday, Feb. 25 at the Lewis F. Cole Middle School Gym.

The players were drafted onto either the Orange team or the Black team by the division selected coaches.

"I have been wanting to have an All-Star game for years, but with 25 teams, trying to find an open night during the season was difficult," League President Michael Klein said. "This year, I changed some things around and, with the help of Ralph DiMeglio, we made it happen."

PostcardsRus, owned by Coach Mark Kleinfeld, donated banners to promote the event. The concession stand will have snacks for sale with all proceeds benefiting the 6th grade dance.

"Now that we will have our first All-Star game under our belts, I am hoping this will become a yearly event," Klein said.
