Two Junior Bridgemen Football Teams to Play in Art McDonald Championship

Fort Lee's Pee Wee and Senior teams will go for titles Friday in Ridgefield after big wins last week.

Two Fort Lee Junior Bridgemen football teams will take the field Friday night in Ridgefield with BCJSFL championships on the line, when the pee wee team takes on Weehawken at 6 p.m. and the senior team goes up against Little Ferry—a new team to the league this year—at 8:30 p.m.

The pee wees take a perfect 9-0 record into their big game, a rematch of a game Fort Lee won by a score of 26-6 in the season’s seventh week.

The senior team advanced to the championship game after defeating their rival Englewood Raiders in the National Conference championship game last week, 27-18. The Englewood senior team had been the BCJSFL champs for the last three years and had also beaten Fort Lee when the two teams went head-to-head earlier in the season.

Meanwhile, Fort Lee’s junior team lost a nail-biter to Englewood last week. The final score was 28-21. The juniors ended the season with a record of 7-1, and it was a tough loss for a team that was left physically and emotionally.

All three Junior Bridgemen teams have shown that hard work, dedication and determination is what it takes to be a part of a successful football program, and Fort Lee coaches have put in countless hours to ensure their teams have been ready.
