School Board Announces Another Change in Meeting Schedule

After saying earlier in the week that meetings through September would take place in the Fort Lee High School library, school officials announced that the meeting scheduled for Monday will be pushed back a week.

The Fort Lee Board of Education’s regular business meeting originally scheduled for Monday, July 23 has been changed to Monday, July 30 at 8 p.m. in the library, school officials announced Thursday.

Earlier in the week, the school district announced that BOE meetings for the rest of the summer and through September would , which has working air conditioning, whereas the high school’s auditorium, where the meetings are usually held, currently doesn't.

Business Administrator Cheryl Balletto on construction and repair work from January's referendum, including the auditorium air conditioning project, all of which is expected to be completed by the time school opens on Sept. 10.

The meetings affected by the temporary shift to the library are those on Aug. 13, Aug. 27, Sept. 10 and Sept. 24, in addition to the meeting now scheduled for July 30 after the change announced Thursday.

The school district also announced this week another slight change in the schedule of upcoming meetings: the public portion of the meeting on Aug. 27 will begin at 8 p.m. with a public hearing on the business administrator’s contract for 2012-2013.

The regular business meeting that night will immediately follow the public hearing, according to the school district.

The regular business meetings through Sept. 24 start at 8 p.m. Agendas are typically available by the Friday before each meeting on the school district’s website.
