New School Year, New Faces in District

Fort Lee students returned to school Tuesday morning; here's a quick look at some of the new faculty and staff whom they will get a chance to know this year.

As Fort Lee public school students return to their classrooms for a new school year Tuesday, they are being greeted by a number of new faces, along with many familiar ones.

The school district was forced to make budget cuts in the spring, but also to get creative in filling vacancies, restructuring classroom aide positions and creating new positions to meet the needs of students as things like IEPs and changing enrollment dictated.

On May 4, there was a “reduction in force,” but many of those people were called back in late June—some as full-timers and others in a part-time capacity.

Below is a list of “new faces” in the district for the 2011-2012 school year—including names, positions and schools, backgrounds in brief and whether or not they are new hires—provided to Patch by the school district.

“The Fort Lee Public School District is excited and pleased to welcome the following new faculty and staff to the district in 2011-2012,” school officials said.
