Fort Lee Schools Remain Closed Wednesday

Wednesday will be the third straight day Fort Lee students will have the day off.

Fort Lee public schools will be closed Wednesday because of Hurricane Sandy, school officials announced.

It will be the third day this week the borough's public school students will be off due to the storm, and after Fort Lee Mayor Mark Sokolich's emergency declaration announced earlier in the day Tuesday, there will be no trick-or-treating for them either.

In addition, Fort Lee Superintendent of Schools Steven Engravalle said Tuesday that school officials were unable to notify parents and staff via the school district's emergency alert system of the closure, but that they were working to fix that problem.
