Fort Lee Schools Call Early Dismissal Ahead of Snow Accumulation

Fort Lee public Schools announced an early dismissal Tuesday in anticipation of some 10 inches of snow.

The early dismissal times for elementary and middle school is 12:30 p.m.; high school period 1-8, 12:06 p.m. and period 2-9 12:39 p.m. The difference in early dismissal times for the elementary and middle schools are due to conflicts with the busing schedule, according to the district.

The district also cancelled all after school activities and extended school day programs at each of the elementary schools.  

The Board of Education meeting scheduled for this evening has been rescheduled for Thursday at 8 p.m. at the High School Media Center, the district said.  

A winter storm warning has been issued for all of North Jersey with as much as 10 inches of snow possible by Wednesday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

The warning is in effect from noon Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday with snow starting Tuesday morning and intensifying in the afternoon and evening hours, the NWS said.
