The Fort Lee Board of Education on Monday named a longtime educator as interim high school principal, NorthJersey.com reported.
Frank Calabria, who has worked as a teacher and principal in Montvale, has a contract that lasts through June 30 and will begin work Tuesday. Calabria, an educator for 35 years, was also a member of the Parsippany-Troy Hills Board of Education.
According to the report, Calabria said his priority in Fort Lee was “ensuring that our students are doing well and ensuring that our students have the wherewithal to do it.”
The top job at Fort Lee High School has been vacant since board trustees reassigned Priscilla Church to the district’s early childhood center. Church, who held the position for three years, pushed unsuccessfully to keep her position.
Salary information for Calabria was not immediately made public.
