$10K Rentals Appear as North Jersey Prepares for Super Bowl XLVIII

Almost six months until Super Bowl XLVIII will come to Bergen County and residents across North Jersey are already looking to cash in.

Homeowners from Westwood to Maplewood have been using a website called EventHomes.com to connect with well-heeled sports fans willing to fork over thousands of dollars for a place to crash when the NFL comes to New Jersey in February.

In Westwood—15 miles from East Rutherford's MetLife Stadium—one homeowner is offering her 1,800 square foot, 3 bedroom home for $1,950 per day.

Potential renters would have to fork over nearly $10,000 for the privilege of renting the home for five days.

Maplewood’s Mary Conway listed her three-bedroom Colonial for $3,000 per night during the Super Bowl festivities when nearly 400,000 visitors are expected in the New Jersey and New York area, according to CBS New York.

Conway's 1,000-square-foot home has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, parking for three vehicles and is walking distance to the train station and approximately 16 miles from MetLife Stadium, according to the listing posted on EventHomes.com.

Other rentals include a $3,000 per day 1,900-square-foot Victorian in Rutherford; and a 3 bedroom, 1,400-square-foot Ridgefield Park home offered for $1,750 per day.

There are already dozens of homes listed on the website for rent during the Super Bowl, with a concentration of the listings coming from the area immediately surrounding East Rutherford.

Considering most of the homes listed are going for thousands per night, would you consider renting out yours during the Super Bowl? Tell us in the comments.
