Your Legislators: Rothman to 'Listen' in Fort Lee Thursday

The Fort Lee Recreation Center will be the site of one of Rep. Steve Rothman's four listening sessions next week

U.S. Rep. Steve Rothman (D-9), who represents Fort Lee in Congress, announced the dates for his upcoming “listening sessions” this week, and Fort Lee is one of four towns the Congressman from Fair Lawn will be visiting.

Rothman will be at the Fort Lee Recreation Center Thursday from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

“I encourage my constituents to attend one or more of the four Listening Sessions I'll be holding this month,” Rothman was quoted as saying in a blog post from his office on Patch. “They should feel free to attend any of the Sessions at their convenience – they do not have to live in the town to come to the session scheduled there.”

Fort Lee Mayor Mark Sokolich called Rothman “a captivating elected official” at the Fort Lee Mayor and Council regular meeting Thursday.

“Congressman Rothman was nice enough to schedule [a listening session] here in Fort Lee,” Sokolich said. “You’ll definitely enjoy hearing from him. He’s an open-minded person, and any question you have or may be on your mind, he answers in a very transparent and informative way.”
