U.S. Rep. Steve Rothman: 'This is Not the End of Al-Qaeda' (Video)

District 9 Congressman says, "there are several other very important leaders still out there and there are thousands of sleeper cells and active cells, literally, around the world, and in the United States."

Rep. Steve Rothman (D-NJ), who represents Fort Lee in New Jersey's Ninth Congressional District, told Patch on Monday that the killing of Osama bin Laden "is not the end of al-Qaeda" and "is not the end of those who would seek to harm America or her citiznes."

"While bin Laden was the symbolic figurehead and the leader of al-Qaeda, there are several other very important leaders still out there and there are thousands of sleeper cells and active cells, literally, around the world, and in the United States," Rothman, one of 15 members on the House Appropriations Committee's defense subcommittee, said in an interview at the Arena Diner in Hackensack.

"So, we need to continue to be vigilant, but we can be grateful for what has happened today, that Osama bin Laden has been brought to justice," Rothman said.
