Primary Election Results: How Fort Lee Voted

Fort Lee voters cast ballots in New Jersey District 37 Tuesday for the first time since re-districting was announced and in uncontested county and local primaries

Fort Lee voters went to the polls Tuesday to vote for candidates in District 37 for the first time since re-districting was announced earlier this year. In Tuesday’s primary election, Democratic and Republican voters officially elected their party’s state, county and local candidates for November’s General Election.

All of the races were uncontested.

Here's a look at how Fort Lee Republicans voted in local elections:

Republican mayoral candidate Judith Fisher received a total of 213 votes, as Fort Lee borough council candidates Martha Cohen and Nadeem M. Akda received 214 and 201 votes respectively.

Republican State Senate candidate for District 37 Robert S. Lebovics received 228 votes, while General Assembly candidates Keith Jensen of Fort Lee received 220, and Gregory Aslanian received 205 votes from Fort Lee Republican voters.

Incumbent County Clerk Elizabeth Randall (222 votes), Surrogate candidate Andrew Cimiluca (215 votes) and Freeholder candidates Joel Brizzi (219 votes) and Anthony Rottino (211 votes) rounded out Republican voting in Fort Lee.

On the Democratic side, Fort Lee Mayor Mark Sokolich received 770 votes, while incumbent council members Armand Pohan and Michael Sargenti garnered 733 and 737 respecitvely.

Incumbent State Senator Loretta Weinberg received 766 votes, with General Assembly incumbents Gordon Johnson and Valerie Huttle receiving 745 and 749 votes respectively in the District 37 race.

Rounding out Democratic voting in Fort Lee were John S. Hogan for County Clerk (729 votes), Surrogate candidate Michael Dressler (744 votes) and Freeholder candidates David Ganz (731 votes) and Fort Lee's Joan Voss, who received 756 votes.
