On the Agenda: No Action Taken at Mayor and Council Meeting

Executive session re-opened to the public at 8 p.m. with a lengthy list of discussion items.

Although Thursday’s executive session of the Fort Lee Mayor and Council technically started at 7 p.m., members of the public who decided to hold off on showing up at Borough Hall’s executive conference room 201 for about an hour made the right decision.

Although the meeting technically began in open session at 7 p.m., an immediate resolution for closed session was approved.

At 8 p.m. the meeting re-opened to the public, beginning with an engineering discussion, including the following:

  • Boswell McClave Proposal for Roadway Improvements to Linwood Avenue
  • Boswell McClave Proposal for Palisade Terrace Pump Station Improvements
  • Milling Service Contract (Advertise for Bids)
  • Bids for Palisade Terrace Pump Station Improvements12th Street Pump Station

After the engineering discussion, the more lively portion of the meeting followed, including the following general discussion items:

  • National Health Insurance Act (AP)
  • Bid for Pre-Action and FM-200 Suppression System
  • Ambulance Vehicle Bid
  • SCBA Bid for the Fire Department
  • Ambulance Corps Stipend Guidelines
  • Advertising for Bids for Police Motorcycles
  • Amending Capter 316 Public Record Fees
  • Awarding Contract to Global RX to Provide Pharmacy Benefit Management Services to the borough
  • Awarding Contract to Pan American Life to Provide Aggregate Stop Loss Insurance

Although, according to the agenda, action might have been taken on the final two items on that list, a collective decision was made to hold off.

Public hearings scheduled for the Mayor and Council’s next regular meeting on March 10 the following:

  • Ord. #2011-7--Amending Chapter 410-49 Zoning, Section (E) Sign/Façade Review Committee to Include Staggered Terms of Appointment
  • Ord. #2011-8--Amending Chapter 388, Sections 14 and 69 Placement of a Handicapped Parking Space by 1010 Harvard Place
  • Ord. #2011-9--Ordinance to Exceed the Municipal Budget Appropriation Limits and to Establish a CAP Bank (N.J.S.A.40A:4- 45.14)
  • 2011 Municipal Budget
