Live Theater, Author Reading and More, this Week in Fort Lee

Mark your calendars--there is a lot going on in Fort Lee this week.

The Fort Lee Historical Society is hosting a reading of the new historical novel, Palisades Park by Alan Brennert, Tuesday at the Fort Lee Museum. The reading coincides with the book's release by St. Martin's Press, as well as the museum's Palisades Amusement Park exhibit. The reading is open to the public and will begin at 7 p.m.

The Fort Lee Board of Education is hosting a Special Public Work Session and a Special Private Work Session on Thursday at 7 p.m. in Fort Lee High School's Library/Media Center on the second floor. Purpose of this Special Public Work Session is to adjourn immediately into private session to discuss personnel matters.
Official action may be taken at the Special Public Work Session.

The Fort Lee Board of Education will be returning to the Special Public Work Session immediately following the Special Private Work Session.

The Mayor and Council will also be meeting on Thursday at 8 p.m. in the Council Chambers of Borough Hall. The meeting will include the public hearing on the 2013 municipal budget.

The Fort Lee High School Music Department will be hosting a benefit concert Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the Fort Lee High School auditorium. The proceeds of the concert will go to support the Music Dpt. Tickets are $10/adults, $5 children under 10 and seniors.

Friday, the Fort Lee Film Commission is hosting a free screening of the classic 1960 film Inherit the Wind starring Spencer Tracy. This free screening will take place in the Fort Lee Municipal Courtroom in Borough Hall at 8 p.m.

On Saturday and Sunday at 7 p.m., the Fort Lee Film Commission is hosting a live performance of the stage play Inherit the Wind performed in the Municipal Courtroom in Borough Hall by the Hudson Shakespeare Company. Tickets at the door are $10 for adults and $5 for seniors and children. All proceeds go towards programs for the Fort Lee High School Drama Department.
