Final Day to Apply for “Vote By Mail" Option

Applications must be delivered to the County Clerk's Office by Nov. 1; voters can also apply in person until 3 p.m. the before the election

The Division of Elections wants to remind all registered voters that there is still time to receive your ballot for the upcoming Nov. 8 General Election through New Jersey’s easy and convenient “vote by mail” option. Any registered voter can do so across the state for any reason.

To receive your ballot by mail, an application must be received by your county clerk by Tuesday, Nov. 1. A voter can also apply in person to their county clerk until 3 p.m. the day before the election. 

Convenient, pre-addressed “vote by mail” applications for all counties can be downloaded online.

Registered voters may also request a mail-in ballot for all general elections, and receive mail-in ballots automatically for future general elections with one application.

To be accepted, all vote-by-mail ballots must be returned to your respective county board of election by 8pm on Tuesday, November 8.

A voter can locate the address of their polling place on their sample ballot or by contacting their county board of election.

Registered voters can also locate the address of their polling place by visiting NJElections.orgor by contacting the state Division of Elections at (609) 292-3760.

Polling places in New Jersey will be open from 6am to 8pm on November 8. The Division of Elections recommends voters with flexible schedules visit polling places during off-peak hours between 10 am and 3 pm. Any voter in line by 8pm will be given the opportunity to vote.
