BOE Work Session, 2013 Municipal Budget Introduction, School 4 Gala Top This Week in Fort Lee

The Board of Education will be meeting Monday at the Fort Lee High School Library/Media Center, 2nd floor. The Board will hold a private work session beginning at 7 p.m. The public portion of the work session will begin at 8 p.m.

The Zoning Board of Adjustment will be meeting Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the council chambers of Borough Hall.

The Board of Health will also be meeting Tuesday at 8 p.m. in the Health Department.

The Mayor and Council will be meeting Thursday at 8 p.m. in the council chambers of Borough Hall. On the agenda is the introduction of the 2013 Municipal Budget.

At the Mayor and Council executive work session last week, the borough auditor, Steve Wielkotz said that emergency expenses incurred during Hurricane Sandy and a 20 percent increase handed down to Fort Lee by the Bergen County Utilities Authority (BCUA) pushed the 2013 municipal budget from a near zero tax increase to a tentative tax increase of $127 on an average home of $465,000.

School 4 will be hosting its annual fundraiser Friday from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the DoubleTree Hotel in Fort Lee. Fort Lee on the Red Carpet is a dinner/dance fundraiser with prizes and karaoke. Tickets are $50 each.
