Street, GWB Walkway Closures Planned for Sunday
Thousands of Girl Scouts will descend on Fort Lee this weekend
The southern walkway of the George Washington Bridge will be closed Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. because of the Girl Scout Councils of New Jersey’s ceremonial “bridging” event, with thousands of Girl Scouts using the walkway to cross the bridge to commemorate the start of the 100th anniversary of Girl Scouting.
The northern walkway of the bridge, which is usually closed, will be open to the public Sunday while the southern walkway is closed.
After 3 p.m., the southern walkway will reopen to the public.
