Queens Man Cheated Port Authority Out of $28K in Tolls, Cops Say

Port Authority Police arrested a truck driver Monday on charges he scammed the agency out of $28,000 in tolls.

Marcus Tifa, 34, of Queens, N.Y., tried to drive through a cash lane on the George Washington Bridge without paying a toll Monday, according to the Associated Press.

Tifa, who obscured the license plates on his tractor-trailer to bypass security measures installed at toll booths, was charged with theft of services and tampering with public records.
