Port Authority Cops, 400 Miles from Home, Aid in ‘Hollywood-style’ Car Chase

Even 6 hours from home the Port Authority Police Department is still on the case.

PAPD officers training in faraway Buffalo—some 400 miles to the northwest—helped local officers nab a pair of shotgun wielding sisters who cops have charged with robbing a pharmacy, according to a report in the Buffalo News.

The sisters held up the pharmacy early Monday evening in an attempt to make off with drugs, police told the newspaper, before fleeing in a stolen taxi and eventually being pulled over by local police.

PAPD driving in a marked police vehicle pulled over to assist local officers and apparently spooked the sisters, who then drove off, sparking a “Hollywood-style car chase through downtown Buffalo,” according to the report.

The police chase was short-lived, however, and the sisters crashed their getaway car into a house about five miles away.

The officers were in Buffalo participating in a “criminal identification and drug interdiction for motor vehicles” course given by the Department of Homeland Security, according to the Buffalo News.
