Police Blotter: 2 Charged With Distributing Drugs at School, 2 With Maintaining Drug Facility

A weekly look at police activity compiled from information provided by the Fort Lee Police Department.

Fort Lee police said they charged a man and a woman Tuesday with possession of cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia and distributing drugs on school property.

Officer Leonard Cottrell and three other officers arrested 35-year-old Carlos Cunillera and 28-year-old Wanda Herrera, both of Montville, N.J., at Route 1 and 9 South in Fort Lee within 1,000 feet of a school, charging them with intent to distribute, distributing drugs on school property and possession charges.

Cunillera and Herrera were sent to Bergen County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail and released the next day, according to the arrest report.

On Monday, Fort Lee police arrested two men on narcotics charges at the Best Western Hotel on Route 4 West in Fort Lee.

Officer Michael Ferraro and two other officers charged 34-year-old Ahmandou Kabba of Roanoke, Va., with maintaining a drug facility, distribution of narcotics, resisting arrest with physical force and obstructing a governmental procedure. Arrested at the same location on the lesser charges of maintaining a drug facility, narcotics distribution and possession of drug paraphernalia was Shieku Kabba, 32, of the Bronx, N.Y.

Both men were sent to Bergen County Jail in lieu of $350,000 bail and were released Tuesday, according to the arrest report.

Other notable Fort Lee police arrests this week:

  • Jun Kwon, 43, of Ramsey, was charged with writing bad checks. Kwon was arrested Wednesday by Brett Howard and one other officer at 2125 N. Central Ave. in Fort Lee, according to an arrest report. The complainant’s address is in Vails Gate, N.Y., according to police. Kwon was released without bail.
