Police Blotter: 2 Pennsylvania Men Charged With Heroin Possession

Fort Lee Police said they arrested two Pennsylvania men Friday, March 11, charging them with heroin possession, possession of hypodermic syringes and possession of drug paraphernalia. 32-year-old Shannon Smith of Sciota, PA and Timothy Spiegel, 26, of Saylorsburg, PA, were arrested at 450 Lewis St. in Fort Lee by arresting officer Cory Horton of the Fort Lee Police. The two men were released from Fort Lee custody on $7,500 bail each. The Fort Lee Municipal Court will set a court date for the two men, according to police documents.
On Tuesday, arresting officer Christopher Richter of the Fort Lee Police arrested 35-year-old Joseph Kovacs of Ridgefield at 2165 Route 4 East in Fort Lee, charging him with failure to appear, possession of 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Kovacs was sent to Bergen County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail.
Also on Tuesday, Fort Lee Police arrested a 22-year-old Farmingdale woman on Route 4 West on drug-related charges. Nina Bisozio was charged with possession of heroin, marijuana and drug paraphernalia by arresting officer Sgt.. Leonard Cottrell. Bisozio was turned over to the Bergen County Jail and released the next day on $5,000 bail.

Other notable Fort Lee Police arrests this week:
- Francesco Bello, 37, of Lodi, was charged Tuesday with identity theft and false uttering, the presentation of a false or forged document with the intent to defraud. The offense occurred at 200 Old Palisade Rd., Unit 12H on Jan. 15, according to police documents. Det. Robert Eager was the arresting officer. Bello was released from Fort Lee Police custody on $2,500 bail, and his case was assigned to Fort Lee Municipal Court. A court date has not yet been set.
- Winston O’Mara, 51, of Englewood, was charged with shoplifting on Sunday, March 12. The offense occurred at the A&P on Lemoine Ave. The arresting officer was Mark Gondola.
