Parker Plaza Evacuated After Electrical Fire

Fire officials closed the building until repairs can be completed. Fire Chief says it's likely to be at least one day.

Wires leading to one of the transformers inside "shorted or burnt out" at about 8:30 am Monday morning causing all power to the building to be shut down, Fort Lee fire officials said.

The building was evacuated and everyone sent home until repairs are made, according to the .

Fort Lee Fire Chief Keith Sabatino said he anticipates the building will be closed for business for at least one day.

Deputy Fire Chief Mark Sulcov said that although PSE&G was on the scene, this is not a PSE&G problem. The building's staff of electricians will make the necessary repairs.
