More Newark Airport Cancellations; Snow Causes Most Closures In Years

Click on the 'replay' arrow to see that WABC-TV provided a video report of the trend of cancellations

The nation has seen the highest number of cancellations in 25 years. According to flightaware.com, 138 departing flights and 131 arriving flights were cancelled at Newark for a total of 269. That is about 28 percent of the airport's daily departing flights and 27 percent of its daily arrivals, according to WABC-TV.

No one in Newark,California gives a rat's ass about snow caused flight cancellations in Newark,New Jersey unless Chris Christie caused them !!! This is just the sort of ineptitude we'll continue to see now that a handful of overworked & under-qualified hacks run our local Patch into the ground from afar. This was a barely credible source of local news prior to the last bloodletting of local editors & is now a worthless waste of it's reader's time. Who'd be foolish enough to waste their advertising dollars here anymore when disgusted readers are abandoning the Patch in droves ? The recent lack of comments is certainly an indication that the Newark Patch is not only dying, but is representative of every other Patch nationwide. It was a nice idea & I'll check occasionally to see if anyone at Patch Headquarters actually remembers where Newark,California is,but the Patch is an appalling failure & the new owners got just what they deserve !!!

I've lived here for 15 years, and I haven't found the Newark Airport, either. The closest thing I've found is the little kids with the little gliders, if I leave out the guys who speed down Thornton from Newark Boulevard in an attempt to get airborne at the speed bumps. I could also care less about embezzlers in Westchester County; I find our own California scandals enough to keep straight since there are so many of them.

Lets face it. Newark, Ca is a boring town. Same lovely weather. No snow days. Rarely any significant crime or murder. So yes, it it a boring journalistic assignment to cover. There is simply nothing that can create a sensational headline week in week out.
