Major Power Outage Hits Fort Lee, Cliffside Park, Edgewater

Thousands were without power in Fort Lee, Cliffside Park and Edgewater early Friday night, according to PSE&G.


The company’s online outage map reported 1,939 customers without electricity in Fort Lee as of 7 p.m. More than 3,000 were out in Cliffside Park.

PSE&G reported service could be restored as early as 8:30 p.m. or midnight at the latest. A transformer explosion was to blame for the widespread outages, according to WABC-TV.
