Major Power Outage Hits Fort Lee, Cliffside Park, Edgewater

Thousands were without power in Fort Lee, Cliffside Park and Edgewater early Friday night, according to PSE&G.

The company’s online outage map reported 1,939 customers without electricity in Fort Lee as of 7 p.m. More than 3,000 were out in Cliffside Park.

PSE&G reported service could be restored as early as 8:30 p.m. or midnight at the latest. A transformer explosion was to blame for the widespread outages, according to WABC-TV.

PSE&G is a little misleading. They count as customers only the electric meters. Over 3,000 residents of Horizon House were without electricity. Some were trapped in elevators until FLFD (much thanks) rescued them. According to PSE&G we count as only 6 customers since we only have 6 electric meters.

Governor Christie claimed he was working the cones on the GWB -perhaps he's now graduated to electrical transformers?
