High Winds Send Scaffolding Flying

Wall St. construction site turns dangerous as high winds blow construction debris from high-rise

Dangerous, high winds in the aftermath of Hurricane Irene left scaffolding flying at 1 Wall St. in the Coytesville section of Fort Lee Sunday afternoon.

Gloria Meyers, who lives next door to the building, heard a crashing sound and ran out of her house only to find the sound she had heard was debris that had fallen off the roof of a high-rise building next to her property. Meyers' house remained damage-free.

The building had netting over the construction area, but it apparently came loose in the wind.
