Fort Lee Man Charged with Sexual Assault, Endangering Welfare of a Child

A 19-year-old Fort Lee man was arrested Monday on charges related to an alleged relationship he had with a 14-year-old girl, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.

Malik Bell was arrested after the mother of the victim became aware of the relationship and contacted the Fort Lee Police Department who notified the county’s Special Victims Unit, according to authorities.

An investigation by both departments resulted in Bell’s arrest on charges of sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

Judge Donald Venezia set bail for Bell at $75,000 and ordered him to avoid contact with the victim. Bell was sent to Bergen County Jail in lieu of bail.
