Cops: Hollow-point Bullets, Handgun Found after Traffic Stop

A 29-year-old New York man faces multiple charges after he drove through a red light and led police to discover a gun and multiple types of ammo, police say.

Fort Lee cops arrested a Bronx man Monday after a traffic stop revealed that the man was in possession of a Lorcin .380 caliber handgun loaded with hollow-point bullets.

Officer Ralph Liquori stopped a white 2013 Toyota Corolla with a Florida registration at approximately 6:35 p.m. Monday after he saw the vehicle blow a red light from the Kelby Street ramp onto Fletcher Avenue northbound, police said.

When Liquori approached the driver, the officer observed an open bottle of Guinness in the center console and detected the odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside the vehicle, according to police.
