Box Truck Overturns on I-95 in Fort Lee, Forces Lane Closures

Nobody was injured in an accident that occurred in the southbound express lanes, which had to be shut down for a brief period late Tuesday morning, authorities said.

A box truck overturned in the southbound express lanes of I-95 Tuesday morning in Fort Lee, injuring none, but shutting down two lanes of traffic for more than an hour, state police said.

and assisted state troopers at the scene of the accident, which occurred just after 11:30 a.m. at milepost 121.3 near the Jones Road overpass in Fort Lee, according to a state police spokesman.

“They shut down the express lanes,” said Lt. Stephen Jones of the New Jersey State Police. “As of 12:54 p.m., Tumino’s Towing had the vehicle upright and had it off the road and were standing by for cleanup.”

Jones said the box truck was a commercial 2007 Mitsubishi registered to a moving and storage company in New York.
