Body Found After Man Jumps From GWB Lower Level

New York City police have recovered the body of a man who jumped from the George Washington Bridge, near the New Jersey tower late Tuesday morning, officials said.

Police were called after passing motorists saw the man park his car in the westbound lanes of the lower level and leap over the side shortly before 11:30 a.m., according to Port Authority Police spokesman Joseph Pentangelo.

Members of the NYPD harbor unit pulled the man’s body from the Hudson River and brought it to Ross Dock about an hour later, the spokesman said.
