After The Storm: Cleanup Begins In Fort Lee

DPW crews, police and residents were left Monday to clean up the mess Hurricane Irene left in its path

The local impact of Hurricane Irene may not have been nearly as severe in Fort Lee as it was in other Bergen County towns, where the threat of potentially dangerous flooding, widespread power outages and multiple road closures continued into Monday. But that doesn't mean the storm didn't leave a mess to clean up in the borough.

There were plenty of fallen trees and downed power lines that needed to be dealt with, in addition to flooded basements and other property damage to contend with.

Photographer Donna Brennan captured these images of cleanup efforts in Fort Lee Monday.
