From terrifying to tame, there’s a spooky haunt or fun filled jaunt in the Englewood area for every gal and ghoul.  Take your little monsters to any one of these creepy, spooky or just plain kooky festive events and you’ll be a hit this Halloween.

Spooktacular Pumpkin Party, NY Botanical Gardens, Bronx, NY:

Grab your little goblins and head across the river for the Spooktacular Pumpkin Party at the NY Botanical Gardens.  This wickedly-cool event will be filled with tons of monstertainment to get your kiddos into the Halloween spirit.  They’ll enjoy live music, spooky story readings, pumpkin parades, and more!  The thrills continue as they get the chance to come face-to-face with the largest bat in the world, the Gigantic Flying Fox of Malaysia.  Fischer-Price’s Little People will also be performing LIVE and as a special treat, your little ones will have a chance to meet and greet their favorite characters.  Festivities are free with admission to the park.

Pack up your posse and head to Whippany this Sunday for a thrilling ride aboard the Pumpkinliner.  Enjoy Enjoy a 30 minute ride down the historic Whippanong Trail, taking in the boo-tiful scenery and fall foliage.  Upon your return, shop for crafts, pumpkins and more at the crafts market.  Meet Stormy the Scarecrow, who is not so scary after all!  Your kiddos will be spell bound by Stormy’s fast paced jokes and magic tricks.  It’s sure to be a ghoulishly good time for all!  Trains depart every 45 minutes from 12:30 PM – 5:00 PM.  Get your tickets in advance online.  http://www.whippanyrailwaymuseum.net/

Annual Halloween Spooktacular, NJ Children’s Museum, Paramus                                                                 

Get your little monsters dressed in costume and ready for some fright-free fun at the best non-scary Halloween event just for preschoolers and toddlers.  Beginning October 13, each exhibit area in the museum will be transformed into a fun and friendly Halloween theme.  Your kiddos can scare up some fun decorating pumpkins, visiting trick-or-treat candy and toy stations, getting their hands or faces painted, or enjoying a Halloween storytime.  Admission is $14.99 for mini-monsters and $9.99 for mummy’s (or daddy’s).    http://www.njcm.com/                                                                                                    { October 13 – 30 | 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM }

If the Halloween Spooktacular wasn’t fangtastic enough for your ghostly goblins, the NJ Children’s Museum is also hosting a “Too Cute To Spook” party that’s sure to tickle their tiny bones.  Tricked out toddlers and preschoolers will go batty over this event that will include a costume contest, trick-or-treating, pumpkin decorating, hand and face painting, unlimited playtime and music and entertainment by DJ Polka Dot.  Pizza will also be served at pre-selected dinner sessions.  Tickets are on sale now for $17.99 per person.  http://www.njcm.com/
